About the page:

Welcome to Granny Cee’s mini homestead!

I am so glad you are here. If you are looking to cultivate a life deeply rooted in home education, sustainable homesteading and ancestral wisdom, you have found your community.

This space is dedicated to mothers, both young and old, who want to step away from the modern rush to focus on intentional learning, self-sufficiency, and natural growth right where they are.

The mission: Growing roots and minds

I believe that the most profound learning happens when education and daily life intertwine. Homesteading isn’t just about managing land; it is a rich, hands-on classroom. Here we focus on:

  • Generational living: Honoring the resourcefulness and resilience of the matriarchs who came before us while growing as women in a modern era. While we honor the resourcefulness of those who came before us, we also recognize the need to forge our own path. We are building a new heritage, one step at a time, through experimentation, learning, and resilience.

  • Home as the classroom: Creating a homeschooling rhythm that embraces curiosity, practical life skills, and the natural world.

  • Sustainable growth: Learning to cultivate the soil, tend to our spaces, and nurture our families with intention.

Honoring the Matriarchs Before Us.

My matriarchal ancestors deeply inspire my journey into homesteading and homeschooling. The matriarchal lines for myself and my daughters were broken when my own mother unexpectedly passed away in the late 70's. There has always been a void where wisdom and matriarchal bonding should have existed. It is in this space that we refill that void for future generations. Long before modern trends, the women in our lineages managed households, preserved food, educated children, and anchored communities with quiet strength and boundless resourcefulness.

When my family stepped into this lifestyle, managing 9 acres, I knew I wanted to revive that ancestral heritage. This blog is a tribute to their wisdom, adapted to the modern world. It is a living record of our trial, error, triumph, and continuous learning on the homestead.

Meet Chris!

I am a stay-at-home mother, educator, and modern homesteader. When I am not lesson planning or working on the land, you can find me coaching my weekly community fitness class. I believe that nourishing our minds, our land, and our physical strength are all connected pieces of a wholesome life.

Whether you are managing a suburban backyard or a sprawling homestead, my goal is to share practical tips, honest stories, and encouragement to help you cultivate your own family legacy.
